Liberals can't do anything without a commission, a task force, a study group, etc.

What do liberals do mostly, other than pass laws that confiscate your hard earned wages or capital gains. They talk. And they talk. And they talk. Usually the talk a lot about stuff they have no intention of doing anything about.

Thus, now Obama is supporting the idea for a deficit commission. This independent commission would have the power to force Congress to vote on major deficit reduction steps. How am I supposed to take any idea from Obama in regards to deficit reduction. How bout lets holding back the rest of that stimulus that has not been spent yet. Oh, we could not do that, your constituents would be angered if you held back on their slush fund.

This is yet another screwball idea. And another dangerous idea couched under the rouse of something the public is concerned about. There is absolutely no Constitutional basis for this kind of thing. We elect Congress to sort out the affairs of the government, not some independent commission. Believe me, if they were to get a commission in place, it would be used to serve the interests of whoever was in power to get around the legislative process. Much of Obama's frustration right now is that he has not been able to get certain things done by fiat (although he has done other things that way, just ask GM and Chrysler).

Barack Hussein Obama has no interest in seeing our deficit come down or our economy to rebound. His goal is to destroy the private sector, and REMAKE America into a purely socialist nation. A thriving economy would inhibit him from expanding the role of government into people's lives. People that are self sufficient do not look to the government for their financial needs.

Below is a link to the story on the deficit commission plan.

Australia's Parliament Rejects Cap and Trade

Well, apparently everything is not so settled when it comes to the religion of global warming/climate change. When you get right down to it, there is nothing scientific about the so called scientific evidence. The Aussies are catching on the scam apparently as seen in this news story. It is time people rejected all this horse hockey being advanced by their public officials from the local level on up. And of course the whole idea of Cap and Trade is nothing but a Marxist's midnight fantasy. In the paraphrased words of one leftist politician, it will be the greatest means of collecting revenue they've ever unleashed. Great. Well, anyway, kudos to the Aussies that were willing to stand against the so called "settled science" and the whole terrible idea of Cap and Trade. Perhaps some of our Congressmen could take notes on this episode in Australia.

Clubbing Our SEALs

Mr. World Leader Obama, can you take a little time out and do end this court-martial fiasco with our three Navy Seals. You loved the SEALS back when they took out the Somali pirates, let's see you be a real Commander-in-Chief and end this injustice. Quit trying to appeal to all  of our enemies around the world and do what is right. It should never have come to this if you were really acting in America's best interest. Mr. Obama sir, you have definitely replaced Jimmy Carter as the lousiest Commander-in-Chief in our history. You are bringing great harm to our men and women out in the field, and actions such as this court-martial with make it even harder for them to do what soldiers do. In a nutshell, Mr. Obama, you are just plain sorry.

Did You Celebrate Diwali This Year? Obama Did on Your Behalf at the White House

My pastor just spoke to me after having spoken with a friend from India at a missions conference that the Diwali priest was chanting things that were antichrist and anti-American. I do not have the transcript of what was spoken in that foreign tongue yet.

SNL Exposes the Farce that Is Barack Obama

Kind of hard to believe the following was on Saturday Night Live. Some on the left are getting antsy with Obama, for obviously different reasons than conservatives.

Consumers suffer lower prices in California grocery store wars--How terrible!

Link

Why don't we have a single payer system for groceries? Competition is terrible because it forces consumers to get products and services at a lower price. Isn't that awful?

The article tells about what is happening in the grocery store business in California. Competition and profit is what drives improvements, cost reductions, and lower costs to the consumer. Every example we have of government run health care in this country and in the world shows how inferior it is to what we already have. Yes we have problems, but we have incredible successes in health care that would never have come from government fiats. The fact is, the Marxist mindset looks for a problem, or creates one, and then singles it out as a vehicle to advance more government control. We have the first Marxist President in Barack Obama. His agenda has nothing to do with improving health care, the economy, our energy supply, etc.; it is all about "remaking" America. Our current leadership in the Executive Branch and Congress have visions of communes dancing in their heads.

We have so many examples of how the free market works and so many examples of how socialism does not work. For years in America we have given ourselves over to socialism as politicians have appealed to us emotionally. "They're doing it for the children," so why not vote for them and let them fix our problems. Well, we now have lots of experience in socialism in our country, and we still have great examples of the power of the free market. It is not much of a comparison. I constantly marvel at the consumer marketplace. The choices we have in America is staggering. Just take one sector--electronics. You walk into an electronics store and you are just overwhelmed with all the different cell phones, ipods, computers, TV's, you name it. No one person, or bureaucrat, could dream up the stuff. The very President who is pushing a draconian government run health care system, enjoys all the neat little gadgets created in our marketplace--all driven by consumer demand, competition, and profit. Come to thank of it, those three words--demand, competition, and profit--are dirty words in the mind of the Marxists. Meanwhile, their little schemes can only exist on the backs of those that succeed in the marketplace. Our current President has a Blackberry in one hand a pen of death to the marketplace in the other. What an oxymoron.

On the other side of the economic spectrum we have examples like the VA health care system. I hear horror stories everytime I speak with one of my neighbors who is depending on that "free" system that he was given access to for his service in Vietnam. Where there is no profit incentive or competition, there will not be a high standard of excellence. We need good doctors to have good health care, and I can tell you the best and brightest are not going to that system. The VA system is a great opportunity for doctors from other lands who don't mind lower pay and more hassle in a government bureaucracy.

We could look at our wonderful AMTRAK system and see the beauty of government running things that are outside its perveiw. Government took out the profitability of passenger trains back in the days after WWII. So those in the train business got out of it and focused on material transportation. So of course after government created that problem, it stepped in and gave us AMTRAK. Problem solved right? No. Government destroyed the ability to have profitable passenger trains and to meet the demands of the consumers, so now what we do have is train systems built by government fiat that no one wants to ride. If there is a demand in it, get government out, and let the marketplace in. These government systems are failures that are only sustained by more and more tax dollars. Everywhere government steps in, where the marketplace should be, it leads to failure.

The beauty of the free market is that those products and services that are demanded by the consumer will flourish, while those things that are not accepted by the consumer die off in the marketplace. That may not be so good momentarily for the provider of the product that does not succeed, but it is much better than having government institute that bad product. There are always problems in anything involving man. When we put things that should be in the private sector into the hands of government, the problems become instituted. In general, the marketplace responds quickly to problems in its products and services because of the desire to be profitable. Government does not have that incentive, so problems keep perpetuating themselves.

Say No NOW to Government Controlled Healthcare

People, you better let your elected officials know where you stand on the healthcare proposals.

Here is a great video to pass along to your family and friends. This is serious stuff, let your congressmen know regardless of how you think they will vote.

'We're pinned down:' 4 U.S. Marines die in Afghan ambush

Mr. President, this is an unacceptable loss of precious life. To leave soldiers out in the field with no air support because of your "rules of engagement" is deplorable and traitorous. Either engage in this conflict in a serious, all out manner, or pull our men out.

"U.S. commanders, citing new rules to avoid civilian casualties, rejected repeated calls to unleash artillery rounds at attackers dug into the slopes and tree lines — despite being told repeatedly that they weren't near the village."

Have 4-Wheeler Will Be Stupid

Some of my church members from Crown & Glory Bible Center went out along a nearby river on Sunday afternoon. After a while, some local kid decides he's going to take a 4-wheeler down to where our families were playing. He ends up scaring some of the wee ones and stirring the ire of the parents and pastors. Fortunately, no rocks flew up and hit anybody. This video shows him after he gets stuck. He finally had to get off the vehicle and pull it around to where he had traction. He and his friends were not very receptive to some words of correction they were given. When they finally left, they treated us with an ornithological display.

A Message from the President on Health Care

Somehow, I got placed on the White House email list. I don't remember ever signing up. Our compassionate leader just sent this message to me. His message is full of the misinformation that he claims the opposition is using. The fact is the Democrats are doing all they can to shut out the truth on this legislation. This legislation will do nothing to improve health care, no, just the opposite, but we will all have "coverage." So comforting.
The White House, Washington

Dear Friend,

If you’re like most Americans, there’s nothing more important to you about health care than peace of mind.

Given the status quo, that’s understandable. The current system often denies insurance due to pre-existing conditions, charges steep out-of-pocket fees – and sometimes isn’t there at all if you become seriously ill.

It’s time to fix our unsustainable insurance system and create a new foundation for health care security. That means guaranteeing your health care security and stability with eight basic consumer protections:
  • No discrimination for pre-existing conditions
  • No exorbitant out-of-pocket expenses, deductibles or co-pays
  • No cost-sharing for preventive care
  • No dropping of coverage if you become seriously ill
  • No gender discrimination
  • No annual or lifetime caps on coverage
  • Extended coverage for young adults
  • Guaranteed insurance renewal so long as premiums are paid
Learn more about these consumer protections at Whitehouse.gov.

Over the next month there is going to be an avalanche of misinformation and scare tactics from those seeking to perpetuate the status quo. But we know the cost of doing nothing is too high. Health care costs will double over the next decade, millions more will become uninsured, and state and local governments will go bankrupt.

It’s time to act and reform health insurance, drive down costs and guarantee the health care security and stability of every American family. You can help by putting these core principles of reform in the hands of your friends, your family, and the rest of your social network.

Thank you,
Barack Obama
